Make Your Own Hemp Milk
This is a creamy, dairy-free and nut-free alternative. Hemp is filled with healthy fat, calcium, fiber, iron, potassium and phosphorus. Hemp milk also contains 10 essential amino acids, making it a good vegetarian source of protein. This is one of my favourite milks to make because it takes no time at all and tastes delicious.
Ingredients
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1/3 cup hemp hearts (I always use Manitoba harvest.)
- 1 tbs of honey or 1 date
- pint of salt
- ½ tsp of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until the hemp hearts are completely broken down. Carefully strain the mixture through a nut-milk bag
- Store the resulting milk in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days, and serve well-chilled.
